Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare Single Player Training
Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare makes big changes to traditional Call of Duty gameplay with the addition of the exoskeleton. Players can now perform boost jumps, dodges, aerial manoeuvres and a host of other powerful skills thanks to their Exos. These additions drastically alter the way the game is played.
A few of the bigger changes in Call of Duty Advanced Warfare are as follows:
- Exoskeleton abilities – the player’s exoskeleton gives him numerous abilities that open up all kinds of possibilities on the battlefield.
- Exoskeleton upgrades – an upgrade system allows you to improve your exoskeleton as you complete challenges.
- Grenades – for most of the campaign, you carry two grenades, each of which as three different uses.
- Heads-up Display – All of your weapon information has been placed on your weapon.
- New advanced weaponry – new weapons and tactical equipment, such as directed-energy rifles and a hovertank, make for some exciting gameplay.
Campaign Basics
Objective Marker
Whenever you have an objective, a yellow circle with a dot in the middle appears where you need to go next. If it is off screen, a yellow arrow points in its direction. If you ever get lost and don’t know where you should go, look for the yellow indicator or wait for one to show up.
Your Health
There is no health meter or number to represent how much health you have. Blood splatter on the screen represents your general well-being, and a blood smear shows up when you are hit. Its arc represents the direction from where the attack originates.
As you continue getting hit, the blood splatter gets thicker until the words ‘You are Hurt. Get to Cover!’ show up on the screen. Move behind cover, and the screen clears, showing that you are recovering.
Stance
There are three stances in Call of Duty – stand, crouch and prone. Press the crouch button to lower your profile. This allows you to move under obstacles, makes you a tougher target and steadies your aim.
Hold the crouch button to go prone. This provides the same benefits as the crouched position, but you are even tougher to hit.
Sprint
Pushing in on the left stick causes your character to run faster. Spring between pieces of cover to become a tougher target to hit.
Dodge
Your exo suit gives you the ability to dodge in any direction. Simply click the left stick while pressing in the desired direction. This is strictly an in-air manoeuvre.
Melee
When you find yourself face-to-face with an enemy, press the right stick in to perform a melee attack. This won’t always result in a kill, but it is good to get in the habit of using it when you are near an enemy. You can use a silent attack when you are cloaked, or when quietly approaching a hostile from behind.
